Parent
involvement with the cooperative consists
of:
Assisting the teachers as a
classroom aid (parent helper)
Assuming a parent job
Attending monthly parent meetings
Parent Helpers:
It is a special day for your child when you are
the “parent helper”,
as they are known as the “Person
of the Day” in their classroom. The
“Person of the Day” leads their class
to the different classrooms and is responsible for
the special daily events such as attendance, weather
and the calendar.
Parents assist the teachers as a classroom aid
approximately 12 times per school year. Every
day, there are two parent helpers, one in each
classroom. One parent each day is also responsible
for the school’s snack.
Parent Jobs:
Each family is assigned a job based on their requests
and special talents. Assuming a parent job contributes
to the functioning of the school.

The school is managed by a parent-elected
Board of Directors that adheres to documented bylaws.
The result of this collaborative, structured approach
is a learning environment that is both highly professional
and community-oriented.
Parent Meetings:
A representative from each family also attends the
monthly parent meeting to discuss the school's operational
issues or a parent education event (CPR or a host
speaker).
